Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AllowBox ("AllowBox", "we", "us"), a multi-tenant school management platform operated from India. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who can use AllowBox

AllowBox is provided to schools and to the parents, teachers, students and staff authorised by those schools. School administrators must be at least 18 years old and legally authorised to enter into agreements on behalf of their school. Student and parent accounts are provisioned by the school they attend.

2. The service

AllowBox provides software for managing admissions, classes, attendance, exams, fees, homework, communication, transport and reports. The exact features available depend on the plan your school has subscribed to. We may update, add, or remove features over time and will give reasonable notice of material changes.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@allowbox.in if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One person — one account. Sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload, post, or transmit unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
• Attempt to access data belonging to another user or tenant you are not authorised to see.
• Interfere with the platform's security, scrape data at scale, or run automated tools without written permission.
• Use AllowBox to send unsolicited bulk communication to people outside your school community.
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or attempt to derive the source code of the platform.

5. Fees and payments

Schools subscribe to AllowBox via a paid plan. Fee invoices that schools issue to families through AllowBox are between the school and the family — AllowBox stores the invoice and any uploaded payment proof on the school's behalf but is not a party to that financial relationship.

6. Content ownership

You and your school retain ownership of the content you upload (homework, documents, profile photos, messages). You grant AllowBox a limited licence to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service. AllowBox owns the platform itself, including all software, designs, and trademarks.

7. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

8. Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it at any time through the Account Deletion page or by emailing privacy@allowbox.in. We will respond within 30 days. Some records (e.g. tax-related invoices) may be retained as required by law.

9. Service availability

AllowBox aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, and outages may occur. We are not responsible for losses arising from downtime, lost data due to your own deletion actions, or third-party service failures (e.g. cellular network, email provider).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, abuse the platform, or pose a security risk. You may stop using AllowBox at any time; your school administrator can deactivate your account.

11. Disclaimer & liability

AllowBox is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Our total aggregate liability under these Terms for any claim is limited to the fees paid by your school for AllowBox in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced inside the app and via email. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
